Drainage filter pipes made of PVC, PP or PE with a diameter of 50–200 mm. These split into suction pipes (50-65 mm) and collector pipes (80-200 mm). The flexible, corrugated drainage filter pipe has slits distributed along its complete length, through which water is able to enter the pipe. The pipes are laid in ditches approximately 0.80-1.20 m beneath the surface.
Whether natural or synthetic fibres are used depends on soil composition (permeability, microstructural composition, pore size etc.). These fibres prevent the finest particles in the surrounding soil from entering the pipe and increases hydraulic performance.
Filter types are measured according to the O90-value. The pore size of the wrapping forms the basis of the assessment. The O90-value is the characteristic pore size of the filter material. 90% of the soil is held back and max. 10% can penetrate or pass through the filter material. Under certain circumstances, a filter with a low O90-value could clog up rather compared to a filter with a higher O90-value.
Filter material
primary polypropylene fibers
O90-range
450 microns
Filter transmittance
the filter (coating) holds back 90% of the particles that are bigger than 450 microns
Field of application
sand and clay soil
Description
the drainpipe is covered with a seamless 6mm polypropylene fiber coating. Through the choice of fiber diameter, the pore size of the filter can be matched up with the grain size of the soil. The fiber does not rot.
Filter material
primary and secondary polypropylene fibers
O90-range
450 microns
Filter transmittance
the filter (coating) holds back 90% of the particles that are bigger than 450 microns
Field of application
universal usage
Description
the drainpipe is covered with a seamless 6mm polypropylene fiber coating. Through the choice of fiber diameter, the pore size of the filter can be matched up with the grain size of the soil. The fiber does not rot.
Filter material
polyester fibers
O90-range
950 microns
Filter transmittance
the filter (coating) holds back 90% of the particles that are bigger than 950 microns
Field of application
sand- and clay soil
Description
the drainpipe is covered with a seamless 10 mm polypropylene fiber coating. Through the choice of fiber diameter, the pore size of the filter can be matched up with the grain size of the soil. The fiber does not rot.
Filter material
coir-/polypropylene fibers
O90-range
700 microns
Filter transmittance
the filter (coating) holds back 90% of the particles that are bigger than 700 microns
Field of application
farmland areas, sand- and peat soil
Description
the drainpipe is covered with a 10 mm seamless coir- and polypropylene fiber coating. Through the choice of fiber diameter, the pore size of the filter can be matched up with the grain size of the soil. The coir fiber is degradable.
